Holiday Activities

In 2023 we began to develop our Holiday Activity programme, offering children at ASSET schools opportunities for a range of activities in the school holidays. Activities have included arts workshops, music sessions, creating radio shows and podcasts, sports activities, Bikeability, Earthwake, cheerleading, forest school and much more.

Workshops always include lunch and are free if you are in receipt of Free School Meals (FSM). For those parents who do pay, we aim to keep the cost as low as possible.

In Summer 2023 we had a huge range of activities and some staff who went above and beyond to provide a wonderful programme. We’ve spotlighted these champions here.

This Easter, we were thrilled to offer another amazing Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme across our schools! It was a chance for children to explore new interests, make friends, and have some unforgettable fun.

Cheerful Camps launched with a fantastic range of activities, from getting messy at Slime Club to Disco to a virtual tour of Paris and a petting zoo where children got to meet some furry (or feathery!) friends!

Earthwake expanded its popular outdoor adventure learning with even more spaces available due to high demand. The children could truly connect with nature and enjoy the thrill of outdoor activities while making new friends and learning about the environment.

We had an even bigger and better sports club program! We opened up more spaces than ever before, so even more children could stay active, learn new skills, and build confidence.  Children had a chance to play a variety of sports, from team classics to fun new discoveries...

As always, food played a central role in the HAF programme. Over 55 delicious meals were served each day, giving children the opportunity to try new and exciting dishes.  But it wasn't just about eating –  the children also learned about healthy recipes and even got to make their own creations to try at home with their families!

We hope that you had a fantastic Easter break!

Stay tuned for news about our upcoming Summer HAF programmes...

Short Breaks

We were fortunate to secure funding from Suffolk County Council to provide holiday support tailored for families with children who have SEND this Easter. We understand the unique challenges these families face, and our Short Breaks initiative is designed to ensure that every child can actively participate in the joy of holiday activities.

Our 'Spring into Fun' SEND club offered activities for over 60  children within the ASSET family. The program provided children with engaging activities, supporting their development and social interaction, while offering much-needed respite for their families.

We are working to secure funding to offer SEND activities this coming summer holiday. Please check back here for an update.
