ASSET are very proud to be founding partners in the Ipswich Social Mobility Alliance. ISMA is a legacy partnership formed out of the five-year Ipswich Opportunity Area (IOA) programme. Ipswich ASSET schools benefited from a wide range of IOA funded projects, and we have been able to share our experience and expertise from those projects across the trust. Our CEO Clare Flintoff was a member of the partnership board.
In 2022-23 the ISMA was formed and ASSET provided support by enabling our Trust Community and Families Lead to coordinate activity to conduct research into children and young people’s vision for the town and create a series of launch events.
In Autumn 2023 ISMA launched a 25 year strategy which is a vision for a generation of change for children and young people's outcomes in the town. We are so proud to be working with the ISMA partners on the Year One Action Plan - here are the acts of leadership that we are taking as an organisation to move this vision forwards:
With 4YP and Ipswich Community Media we will develop a programme of mentors and buddies, giving young people access to supportive adults - allies - in a range of spaces.
With Chantry Academy we will create a programme of organisations visiting schools and colleges to make children and young people aware of safe and enriching spaces and opportunities across Ipswich.
We will create a primary school alumni programme, giving young people moving into secondary school the chance to shape how their primary schools can be community anchors and lead place based social action.
With CF Education and Let's Talk Reading we will create a strong programme of parental involvement opportunities with education providers.
